2024 Acura Electric SUV ADX, Specs, Review – The Acura ADX is the Japaneses brand’s first EV, but underneath it’s as American as a Chevrolet Corvette. Acura/Honda collaborated with General Motors to develop EVs based on the existing Ultium platform and battery technology to reduce costs and accelerate development.
We only know about the ADX because Acura has already filed a trademark for the name and the Ultium platform offers multiple drivetrain options. Because Acuras are generally sportier than Hondas, we believe Acura will forego the front-wheel-drive long-range opportunity in favor of a dual or triple-motor setup. 2024 acura electric SUV
In terms of size, we believe it will be similar to Acura’s best-selling crossover, the MDX. This will also compete with upcoming EV crossovers such as the Polestar 4 and the next-generation EV-only Porsche Macan.
Price and Release Date
Because of the collaboration with GM, the Acura ADX does not need to be built from the ground up. If all goes well, it should hit the market in 2024. This is roughly a year after its main competitors, keeping the Acura brand relevant and in touch with the consumer. 2024 acura electric SUV
Pricing will be critical. Although the cost of battery packs is rapidly decreasing, EVs continue to command a premium over ICE vehicles. The general price range for this segment is between $60,000 and $80,000, and Acura will most likely want to be on the lower end of that range.
The price of the 2024 Acura ADX is as unknown as most other details about the upcoming Acura model. Since the ’24 Prologue is expected to start around $45,000, we believe the Acura-branded version will cost at least $10,000 more in base form. The trim levels of the ADX should also be consistent with the rest of the automaker’s lineup, which includes Technology, A-Spec, and advanced models. A Type S performance model appears unlikely, but we’ll have to wait and see. 2024 acura electric SUV
